Calling all Scouts and Explorers in Cardiff and Vale Area Are you ready to roll up your sleeves and build something awesome? Join us for a 3-day Hackathon where we’ll design and develop a Progressive Web App (PWA) to support Scouting activities in the Area. Whether you’re into coding, design, or just love working on creative projects — this is your chance to get hands-on and build something amazing.
🛠 What’s the plan?
Over three action-packed days, we’ll be working in small teams to plan, build, and launch a real web application using:
• TypeScript
• Firebase (for the back end)
• Web Components
• Visual Studio Code (VS Code) as our development environment
• Git for version control
• Agile workflow using Trello to manage tasks and track progress
You’ll get real experience using tools and techniques that developers use every day — from coding and collaborating, to breaking down tasks and sprint planning.
Important: Please make sure you have an email address you’re happy to use to create a GitHub account if you don’t already have one.
