Ty Hafan Scouts are looking for adaptable and flexible leaders to join our team, helping to run weekly meetings and occasional weekend events.
The group was launched in 2008 as one of the first Scout groups in a children’s hospice. Since then, we have won the prestigious Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service, and we remain one of the few groups based in such a setting.
Children stay at Ty Hafan for respite or end-of-life care, and consequently we run differently from other groups. Our activities are not just for the referred children – parents, carers, siblings and other family members visiting can also take part.
Those who have visited Ty Hafan will know the atmosphere is happy and upbeat, and we reflect that in our activities, which we adapt to suit those attending each meeting. That means we have to be flexible in our approach and sometimes adapt the programme at short notice.
We meet every Wednesday 6pm to 7pm and run occasional Sunday events and summer camps for siblings. We also join other Scout groups for camps and trips with the siblings.
If you think you might be interested in joining us and have good communication skills and a flexible approach, please contact me.
We can discuss further and then organise a taster session for you without any commitment.
