Hi, I’m Ruth and I’m Deputy Area Commissioner and one of the Assistant Area Commissioners for International. Having been a Venture Scout leader and then Explorer Scout leader I have been in the Area Team for a while mostly in the International role. I’m lucky enough to have been to two World Scout Jamborees, the 20th in Thailand as part of the UK Contingent Support Team and the 21st in the UK as part of the Jamboree Delivery Team. I’ve been part of the leadership team for three Explorer Belt Expeditions to Serbia, Italy and Belgium/Luxembourg and also other international camps such as Switzerland and Canada. I truly believe that international scouting should be accessible to all and I’m here to help if anyone is curious about leading a trip themselves.

Outside of scouting I am an Assistant Director in Cardiff and Vale University Health Board, I have a bit of a sport obsession, and I’m equally as passionate about food, drink and seeing the world.
