Area Youth Commissioner

Having started my Scouting journey at Beavers, I’ve made my way up the movement where I’m now an assistant Section Leader with Cubs and Area Youth Commissioner. Scouting has given me so many opportunities, and I’m hoping to continue to promote Youth Shaped Scouting in the Area, enabling young people to have a voice.
Role Description
As Area Youth Commissioners, we ensure that all young people in the area (aged 6 to 25) have the opportunity to use their voice and shape their scouting journey, by having an input in the activities and decisions made in Scouting. We run an active Area Youth Forum where alongside a team of Deputy YC’s for each Pathway and District Youth Commissioners, we chat with Young People in the Area to hear about their suggestions on how we can seize every opportunity to achieve our goal for the Youth Pathway as part of Cardiff and Vale’s Roadmap to 2023.
