Iceland 2023

Looking for a highly-adventurous international adventure, complete with breathtaking scenery and thrilling activities? Iceland 2023 is for you!

This is the chance to explore an incredible country, complete with unique and contrasting culture to the UK. We aiming to meet with Icelandic Scouts at several points of the event, allowing young people to get to know Scouts from another country.

When: Saturday 19th – Friday 25th August 2023

For: Explorer Scouts/ Young Leaders at the time of travel. If you are 14 or over, but still under 18 on the 19th August 2023, you can join this trip.

Price: £1,100 Financial challenges should never be a barrier to Scouting – please see below.

Financial support: There are plenty of grants and funds available, and the Leadership Team for the event will support you to apply for them. We have a list of some funding you might be able to access.

The fee will be paid against a payment schedule – there is no expectation for this to be paid in one go! If a different payment schedule would be preferred, this can be arranged.

The final payment is a flat fee of the remaining balance due. The balance due may be reduced by the Leadership Team if it becomes possible to reduce the total per-person fee for all participants.

The fee includes:

  • Several pre-events in the run up to the event
  • Return travel from South Wales to Iceland
  • Accommodation in Reykjavik, Iceland’s capital city
  • Travel pass to explore Reykjavik
  • Accommodation at Iceland’s National Scout Centre
  • Adventurous activities: rafting, hiking to hot springs, glacier walks are but some of the options available. We aim for our young people to shape the final programme of the event.
  • A trip to the world-famous Blue Lagoon!
  • UK International necker
  • All food for the event

The deposit for the events is non-refundable, unless the event is cancelled on reasonable grounds.
