Hello from Cardiff University’s Teddy Bear Hospital Society!
Our new committee are excited to say that we are now arranging visits to schools, scouts, guides and other children’s groups for the new school term.
A little recap about us: We are a student-led society aiming to reduce young children’s fears of hospitals, doctors and dentists through play. We make visits in the community and run through fun stations to teach topics such as basic anatomy, bones and X-rays, exercise, healthy eating and mental health! Each session tends to be around 45 minutes – 1 hour and are led by a small group of our volunteers (each with an enhanced DBS check).
If you would like us to visit, we would love to hear from you! Alternatively, if you would like some more in-depth info about what we do as a society and what our visits can consist of, please don’t hesitate to ask!
We are hoping to commence our visits in Mid-October 2023. If you would like us to visit between Mid-October – Early December, please do send us a reply, making sure to note the following details:
- Contact Person and Mobile Number:
- Preferred date and time for the visit:
- Visit location:
- Number of children:
- Any specific stations/topics you’d like us to teach the children:
We will confirm the date and time of the visit with you as soon as we have received your details.
We will be doing visits around the academic year starting again in February 2024 till May 2024, if that would better suit you.
We look forward to hearing from you and please feel free to share this with others who you think may be interested in a visit from us!
Kind regards,
Poppy Twort (TBH Visit Coordinator 2023/24)
